Diversion

di·ver·sion
dəˈvərZHən,dīˈvərZHən/
noun
an instance of turning something aside from its course.

Not-my-president Trump is at it again.  At 3:35 AM Saturday, without offering any evidence, he claimed that President Obama wiretapped his phones ahead of the election.

All this at the time when there are calls for an investigation into Russia hacking our election.  In the meantime, not-my-president Trump's Attorney General Jeff "I wasn't always a racist" Sessions has recused himself from the investigation since he lied when he said under oath he never met with any Russians prior to the election.  No less than seventeen U.S. intelligence and security agencies have said conclusively that the Russians hacked and influenced our election.

Not-my-president Trump's claim of wiretapping is clearly a diversion to take attention away from the Russian investigation.  And, if indeed there was any wiretapping, it would have to have been approved by a federal judge and a warrant would have to be issued which showed probable cause that Trump committed a federal crime or was a foreign agent.

A former senior U.S. intelligence official has called not-my-president Trump's claim, "Just nonsense." Another senior official with direct knowledge of investigations by the Justice Department said, "This did not happen.  It is false.  Wrong."  Even FBI Director Comey has asked the Department of Justice to refute not-my-president Trump's false wiretapping claim.

Congress needs to call not-my-president Trump's bluff on this one and get moving on the Russian involvement in our election investigation.  And, while they are at it, get a copy of his tax returns and see just how invested in Russia he is.

Just one day more...
