It's certainly getting frigid back home in Nebraska.

Almost makes me feel guilty with the weather we are enjoying in Arizona.

Not-my-president trump's government shutdown, the longest in U.S. history, lasted from December 22, 2018 to January 25, 2019 (yes, he is on record saying he would be proud to shutdown the government).

  

The government has now been funded until February 15th and there is hope (albeit slight) that there will be a compromise on border security.  I have my doubts.  

More likely he will exert executive authority and move other dedicated funds to pay for his stupid-ass wall.  Clearly this is a abuse of power and there needs to be a legal challenge to this move.

It appears his plan is already covertly under way.  Fellow Canadian blogger Al Bossence posted photos of a significant military troop movement near Why, Arizona headed toward the border (http://thebayfieldbunch.com/2019/01/a-drive-through-organ-pipe-cactus.html).

Al's photos were posted on January 23rd, two days before not-my-president trump temporarily ended his shutdown.  Troop movement toward the border?

Coincidence?

I think not.

Not-my-president trump continues his tantrum over his stupid ass wall and federal employees have gone unpaid for nearly a month.



The crisis isn't at the border that not-my-president trump is trying to make it.  The crisis is all the federal employees trying to get by with no pay.  It's time they took action.

The TSA and air traffic controllers should collectively give notice that if they aren't paid - say, within 10 days - that they won't show up for work.

No pay, no work.  With the airports shut down we'll see how much longer the government shut down lasts.

Scammed Again

Over and over again not-my-president trump stirred up the clueless by saying Mexico would pay for his southern border wall.

Notwithstanding the fact the Mexico's former President Vicente Fox said that Mexico "won't pay for that f***ing wall" and President Enrique Peña Nieto said repeatedly that Mexico would not pay for the wall, not-my-president trump continued to dupe his followers.

 

Having been caught in a another lie, he said today that obviously he didn't mean that Mexico would "write a check" for his wall.  He now says that it is because of his trade agreement with Mexico that they will pay for the wall.  

  

Wait a second...  Is that the USMCA trade agreement that replaced NAFTA?  So, let's break this down.  

USMCA: United States Mexico Canada Agreement.

Using moron-in-chief trump's twisted logic, since Mexico will indirectly pay for his wall via USMCA, that must mean that since Canada is part of the USMCA they will also be indirectly paying for his wall.  Scammed again.
