Dictator-in-chief trump continued his misinformation campaign against mail in voting this morning in a tweet.
Facts First: While rare instances of voter fraud from mail-in ballots do occur, it is nowhere near a widespread problem in the US election system.
Experts argue mail-in voting is secure. "The bottom line is that absentee and mail balloting are secure in America," Wendy Weiser, the director of the Democracy Program at the Brennan Center, told CNN. "Election officials, Republicans and Democrats alike, pretty much universally are confident in the system."
According to a Fox News poll conducted in May, 63% of respondents support allowing all US citizens to vote by mail in the 2020 presidential election because of coronavirus. Trump himself has voted by mail in several elections and as recently as Florida's primary in March.
He also suggested in the tweet delaying the election and went back to his 2016 tactic of fearmongering the election, laying the groundwork if he loses. Just like 2016 when he claimed the election would be"rigged" if he lost, he now says it will be "inaccurate and fraudulent."
The bottom line is that the election is clearly established in the Constitution. Nothing this moron says changes that. His misinformation campaign about mail in voting and postponing the election raises the real possibility that if he loses the election he will refuse to vacate the White House.
Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace pressed Trump to “give a direct answer” on whether he would accept the Nov. 3 election results or not.
“I have to see. Look, you — I have to see. No, I’m not going to just say ‘yes.’ I’m not going to say no and I didn’t last time either,” Trump said.
When asked if he can give a direct answer about whether he will accept the election, Trump replied, "I have to see."
If dictator-in-chief trump denies the election and refuses to leave the White House the answer is simple:
