The drought continues here on the farm and large areas of the fescue grass are dying.
For comparison, in years where we have had normal rain, we have not had to do any watering and were mowing twice a week. So far we have mowed only twice this entire season. We are spending most of our time watering trees to keep them alive.
It got to the point where the two small water tanks I had put out for the nice neighbor farmer's cows could no longer keep up. Last week he brought by a 700 gallon water tank and that has made a substantial difference.
In other news, we made a "rest of our life" decision and traded our truck camper for a small travel trailer. The truck camper was handy when we traveled back and forth each winter to Arizona where we left our fifth wheel in an RV park.
Now that we don't winter in Arizona any longer it had come to the point where the truck camper was too small for seasonal camping trips. Thus, the decision to trade for a small travel trailer, which is likely the last camper we will own because of our age.
We like that it has a couch instead of a useless dinette and is perfect for two of us.
Some 40 years ago our first camper was a pop up, soon followed by a travel trailer and the fifth wheel after that.
