More Drastic Measures?

We've got a battle going on here on the farm.  Gophers or ground squirrels have decided to take up residence.

They've created an underground cavern and running over with the lawn mower is a real jolt.

The time has come to try to get rid of them.

Yesterday I ran a hose in one of the holes.  I was giving them a chance to abandon their home.  Only one well soaked bugger came out of a hole.  He drowned while trying to escape back in the hole.

Today I filled in all the holes I could find with dirt and will check tomorrow for any activity.

If the flood didn't get them, then I'll have to take more drastic measures.

Time To Saunter

The nice neighbor farmer has brought the cows back to the pasture for the summer.

We enjoy seeing them every year and since we don't have any livestock here on the farm it is always nice having them around.

It is especially welcome now with all the problems in this country.  We can saunter out to the fence line and clear our minds.

Our two-year-old Cub Cadet mower is giving us problems.  It insists on running rough and is fighting me.  I need to figure out the problem soon since we mow every week.  I've taken the gas tank off and cleaned it, blew out the fuel lines, put on a new fuel filter, cleaned the air filter, put on a new fuel pump, checked the spark plugs and cleaned the carburetor.  Still, it runs rough.

Time to saunter out to the fence line.
