I have an old filling that cannot be replaced and needs a crown. The cost at home is $1100, which my dental insurance doesn't cover. The cost in Algodones is $360, so it is a no brainer since we are close to the border.
Generally, the work can be done in a couple of days, however this is the busy season for them. It may take longer, so we will be taking the truck camper if we have to stay longer. Boondocking may not be feasible since the holding tanks in the truck camper are so small and with two people they fill up fast. So, we are considering staying at the Pilot Knob RV park - that is if they allow truck campers. Some parks don't. If I'm told the crown won't be ready until next week, then we'll have to consider our options.
Just one day more...

Awesome, I am sure they will let you come here and you can join us, Kathy is usually in the office, lots room here, you need to stop by say hi. Site 105, Happy Hour at 3 pm as always. Its been a while and you can check out the 1930 ford pickup, one of the night time hosts here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info George.
DeleteThe have a 24 hour lab there so I am sure you will be in and out in a couple of days. Remember to take US cash as they charge a premium for credit or debit cards. Dental work is never fun but getting it done for a reasonable cost makes it much easier to take. Say "Hi" to George and Suzi for us.
ReplyDeleteWill do. I remember your cash scramble when you were here.
DeleteWe are so happy to add you to our list of new blogger friends this year! Great sharing Happy Hour with you today.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your teeth.
Thanks Patsy. Looking forward to the rest of the week and more happy hours, after I get this tooth healed.
